Pictures from inside my workingroom

My workingroom, small but comfortable. Don´t need a lot of space when I don´t have classes, and I havent had any classes during this blog-time.
My room is like an separete level in the house, good light from three windows. The animalowners who come here with their animals may sit two starirsteps above my, then I have them under full observation all the time from where I sit, and that is nessesary in my work.
 Turbo, my loyal companion!
This is Nitro, my other companion. In my work I have to have own animals to help me in my work. The dogs helps with analysing other dogs behaviour, and as examples when I teach classes, students needs to hear examples to be able to understand homeopathy. So my animals are my only workingmates :)
This is my cat Ronja. She is a very special cat, I have learnd a lot thanks to her!

Pictures from outside, this is where my clients first enter!

Behind this little window outside, there is an shy rabbit, hard to see though, the rabbit Elsa is yellow (if you can see her) her friend did not wont to chow up at all. Kind of hard to get photos when my 4-legd friends don´t want to show them selvs ;)
My rooster Jussi, very kind but pretective one, kind to children but he fought an eagle ones to protect the 11 hens of his.
Here some of the hens, the dogs work to keep them safe at our yard along with the rooster, fulltime job ;)

My work as an homeopath for animals - becoming a teacher

This is where I work, at home. The window abow the door is my workingroom. I work and live out on the countryside in Finland.
Here our dog Turbo is looking down from my workingwindow.

Welcome to my work at Axxell Brusaby and become an animal caretaker!

We usually don't have lambs during the autumn, but this year we did get a surprise... Good for the students, tomorrow we are going to the sheep farm to take a look at them. We have around 25 female sheep at the schools farm and they all need to get their coat cut, so that is also a thing on the to do -list for tomorrow.

Students in our animal house. They are the ones cleaning the house and taking care of the animals. This is in the end of one of my practical lessons

One of the students are doing the dishes. A lot of animal caring is cleaning after the animals and that's a thing that many of our students in the beginning haven't thought about. Sometimes it comes as a chock for them and they quit their studies, but most of them stay.

One of my students have been feeding our guinea pigs and now she is handling him and checking his health. We have 8 guinea pigs at our school. Except for the guinea pigs we have around 50 species (but then we're also counting the fishes :))

This is a photo of our school from up above. Many of the buildings are houses for the students, most of them (around 150 people) are living at our school during the weeks. You can also study horses, agriculture, forest and then we have a lot of studies for "grown up people". We are around 50 people working in Axxell Brusaby.

The dog and cat hall in our animal house. This is were I mostly work when I have practical lessons. We have around 25 Labrador retrievers and they are all becoming assistance dogs. The students are very involved in their training. Then we are also taking care of homeless cats, we have space for about 15 homeless cats/kittens. At the moment we have 5 kittens and 6 adults. The students are also taking care of them.

This is to present the PBL (problem based learning) method if someone doesn´t recognize it. A case is presented by the teacher and the students start to work with it. Usually the group of about 7 students/group meet five times and have about a month time for there work. First of all there is some brainstorming, after that diskussions and between the meetings the students search for information and they study different questions more profoundly.

Theres systemising of information, discussing cases from different angels using different sources and theories. These have to be áccompanied with more practical exampels combining theory and practice fluently as a result for understanding and development within each student.

PBL at Arcada

The social worker students that I have been practicing in to teach use the method PBL = problem based learning (this is a picture from the www.arcada.fi homepage). The group work process looks something like this.

Entering in Arcada, Helsinki, there are big screens with inform about the different lectures and events during the day. After a few steps there is a great common area for lunch, for working in groups, for having a coffee. In the picture there is no one, but at day time this place is usually very appreciated.
